Description of Open and Closed Die Forging Press
We designs and manufactures hydraulic forging presses that range from 100 to 10,000+ tons. As with all of the AMD machinery, our heavy industrial duty hydraulic forging presses are designed to work in the harshest industrial environments.
Our forge presses are designed and built to be rugged, reliable, versatile and efficient. In over 37 years of machine building, not a single AMD Press or Shear has been permanently removed from service due to machine failure. Off the shelf components are used whenever possible, meaning less expense and less downtime. Presses can always be retrofitted with the latest control, electric and hydraulic upgrades to keep the machines running effectively for many years to come.
AMD hydraulic presses have distinct advantages over mechanical presses. Our forge press design eliminates costly repairs due to die damage if there is a system malfunction. The AMD Hydraulic Press delivers full tonnage throughout the entire stroke. These pressures can be concentrated over small or large bed areas with minimal deflection offering unsurpassed process control. Simplified hydraulic ram construction eliminates clutches, brakes, eccentrics, gear trains and complicated components to minimize downtime for service and repairs.
Every AMD Hydraulic Forge Press features overload protection. Its low shock design and simplicity allows for easy installation with out an elaborate foundation. Many of our press designs also feature 8 point guiding, removable slide bolsters, and split piston rod connections. Our LCD operator panels control every aspect and parameter of operation. The open and closed die forging presses have programmable parameter settings for quick changeovers.
Our Hydraulic Forge Presses can be supplied with entry and exit automated material handling. This is the value added of purchasing an entire turnkey system from one vendor.
